Twin Waterfalls (Last main waterfall)

Twin Waterfalls (Last main waterfall)

Mt Ophir is very well known for the trek to the summit. Every school holidays, hundreds or students flock to the mountain to step on its summit. However, ask most people who had been there about the waterfalls of Ophir. Most would only recall one near the beginning of the trek. The only other waterfall that would leave an impression is the Puteri waterfall near to the square pool.

But, are there only 2 waterfalls on this mountain? Going up from the traditional Sagil route up the mountain, there are at least 5 waterfalls that are more than 2 storeys high. Including the cascades that form a series of small waterfalls, there are a total of 8 waterfalls from the entrance to the square pool.

One of the reasons why these waterfalls are relatively unknown to most people who had been there is because some of these waterfalls are hidden away from the main path. Most of them involve scampering along the riverbank in order to catch a glimpse of it. Of course, the most beautiful waterfall along the path must be the Twin waterfalls, which makes the rest pales in comparison.

If you have been to Mt Ophir many times and the thought of it bores you, why not make a trip to see all the waterfalls found along the way? The trip would take less than a day but it is certainly a less strenuous and a different objective from the usual one of striving to reach the top.
